Arc Raiders Tips & Tricks
25 essential tips organized into Survival & Extraction, Blueprint Farming, ARC Enemy Mechanics, Map & Condition Awareness, and Hidden Mechanics. Each tip includes the mechanical reason it works — not just the tip itself.
1. Survival & Extraction
- Locate your nearest extract before you start looting — not after. If you get surprised and need to leave fast, panic-searching the map for an exit costs lives and gear. Knowing your exit path in advance lets you commit to looting with a clear escape.
- Downed teammates auto-revive on extraction. Never leave a downed squadmate behind — push them to the elevator or hatch before it closes. You keep the full squad and their gear; leaving them loses both.
- Raider Hatch extraction is completely silent — no alarm, no audio cue for other players. If you are carrying valuable gear, spending a Raider Hatch Key is almost always worth it because it avoids broadcasting your position like a Cargo Elevator does.
- Calling a Cargo Elevator at the last second when the raid timer hits zero grants overtime. The raid extends until the elevator completes. Use this deliberately if your squad is still looting nearby; just remember you can still die during the countdown and lose everything.
- No safe zone exists at any extraction point. Enemies can and will attack you during a countdown. Use cover at elevators; do not stand on the pad in the open. One stray ARC or player shot can end the run.
2. Blueprint Farming
- Cold Snap is the best condition for blueprint farming when it is active. Caches spawn without foliage and must be breached, but there are more of them and they have significantly higher blueprint drop rates. Night Raids also dramatically increase blueprint spawn rates across all containers — any Night Raid session on any map is worth running for blueprint farming, not just Cold Snap. Check the live events tracker and queue when Cold Snap or Night Raid is on your target map.
- Hurricane First Wave caches and the Harvester event are top blueprint sources. Hurricane First Wave caches have elevated blueprint rates. The Harvester event on Dam, Spaceport, and Blue Gate offers guaranteed legendary blueprint drops (Jupiter and Equalizer weapons). Community runs have also pulled multiple rare weapon blueprints (Tempest, Bobcat, Vulcano) in Cold Snap or Hurricane sessions. Plan runs around these conditions.
- Medical blueprints drop from white bins and blue medical drawers — not weapon containers. Weapon blueprints come from Raider Containers specifically. Farming the wrong container type wastes entire raids. Match your route to the blueprint type you need.
- Use the CONTAINERS filter on the interactive map before entering a sector. Identify the cluster of Raider Containers in your target area and plan a route through them before you drop in. See blueprints and cache locations for details.
- Kill named ARC bosses (Matriarch, Queen) when appropriately geared — they sometimes drop rare blueprint crates or keys not available from standard containers. High risk, high reward; only engage when you have the loadout and space to do it safely.
3. ARC Enemy Mechanics
- Surveyors cannot shoot targets below approximately 10 metres vertically. Lure one under a ledge or into a ground-level position and it cannot hit you. Fire from below to farm them or clear a path without taking damage.
- Rocketeers fire slow-moving rockets — lateral strafing often dodges them entirely. Wait behind terrain for them to fire, then step out and return fire while they reload. Trading in the open gets you hit.
- Wasps travel in swarms — never engage in open ground. Find cover and let them come to you through a chokepoint rather than fighting in the open where they surround you. One doorway or corridor limits their angles.
- Surveyors emit a distinct bleeping alarm just before firing. Rocketeers have a rotor whine. Learning these audio cues lets you react before the projectile launches, not after it hits. Sound is as important as sight for surviving ARC-heavy zones.
- The Shredder ARC on Stella Montis roams main corridors at night and is extremely fast. Its roar signals proximity. Unless you have heavy fire (Archo Voulge, Steamroller) and distance, avoid it entirely — it is not worth engaging as most players.
4. Map & Condition Awareness
- Check the live events tracker before queuing every session. Queuing into the wrong condition wastes a raid and potentially gear. If you want Cold Snap and get Hurricane, your farming plan is useless. One click before queue saves a full run.
- Cold Snap changes the entire economy of a map — more caches, breachable rather than open access, higher blueprint drops. If Cold Snap is active on your target map, adjust your loadout to prioritize cache farming (breach tools, route through cache zones).
- Electromagnetic Storm increases ARC Courier spawns significantly — the best time to farm Sentinel Firing Cores. Plan Courier routes using the map and queue when EM Storm is active on the right sector.
- Blue Gate and Stella Montis both have underground sections accessible via the level switcher on the interactive map. Many players have no idea these exist and miss significant loot and extraction options. Toggle the level/layer before you drop.
- During Hurricane, moving into strong wind outdoors is slower and causes knockback. Stay covered when wind is strong, and use wind direction to control approach angles if being chased. Fighting in the open in Hurricane is a disadvantage.
5. Hidden Mechanics & Advanced
- Only the first player to pick up a shared quest item gets progression credit. If your squad needs the same item, one player takes it this run, then the squad immediately re-queues so another player can grab it on the next run. The item respawns for the next lobby.
- Always put quest items, rare blueprints, and Raider Coins in Safe Pockets on your shield before extracting or entering risky areas. These items survive death and are the only things worth protecting at all costs. Everything else is replaceable.
- The don't-shoot emote works more often than you expect. Many players in the session are focused on PvE and extraction, not hunting other players. Using voice or emote to signal non-aggression regularly prevents unnecessary fights and saves gear.
- Stella Montis Hidden Bunker puzzle: the solution order is painted on vent ducts in the room before the red valve room. Memorize or screenshot it before entering the valve room — random attempts will not solve it. One wrong valve can lock you out or waste time.
- The Metro Station extraction on Buried City requires solving a pinwheel puzzle at the station entrance before the train arrives. Without solving the puzzle (or having a Master Key), the station cannot be activated. Most beginners have no idea this mechanic exists and cannot use Metro extraction at all. Learn the puzzle or bring a Master Key.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best tips for new Arc Raiders players?
Locate your nearest extract before looting; use Raider Hatches for valuable loads; bring downed squadmates to extract (they auto-revive); use elevator overtime by calling at the last second when needed; use cover at elevators — there is no safe zone. See the beginner guide and extraction points guide for full details.
How do you farm blueprints faster in Arc Raiders?
Target Cold Snap (when active) and Night Raids for cache and container farming — both boost blueprint drop rates. The Harvester event on Dam, Spaceport, and Blue Gate offers guaranteed legendary blueprint drops (Jupiter and Equalizer). Hurricane First Wave caches also have elevated rates. Medical blueprints come from white bins and blue medical drawers; weapon blueprints from Raider Containers. Use the CONTAINERS filter on the interactive map to plan a route. See cache locations and blueprints.
What is the best condition for farming in Arc Raiders?
Cold Snap (when active) and Night Raids for blueprint farming. Electromagnetic Storm for Sentinel Firing Core farming. Check the live events tracker before queuing to match your goal.
How do ARC enemies work in Arc Raiders?
Surveyors cannot shoot below ~10m — lure under a ledge. Rocketeers fire slow rockets — strafe or wait for reload. Wasps travel in swarms — use cover and chokepoints. Surveyors bleep before firing; Rocketeers have a rotor whine. Shredder on Stella Montis is very fast — avoid unless heavily geared.
What is the Hidden Bunker puzzle in Arc Raiders?
On Stella Montis, the solution order is painted on vent ducts in the room before the red valve room. Memorize or screenshot it before entering the valve room — random attempts will not solve it.
